Since 2016, she has been Associate Professor of Epidemiology and Medical Statistics in the Athens Medical School. From 2000, she participated as a Research Associate and co-investigator in several EC-funded programs with theEPICstudyandCHANCESproject. Shewasamemberoftheworkinggrouporganizedbythe InternationalAgencyonResearchofCancer(IARC)Monographstoevaluatethecarcinogenicityof drinkingcoffee,mate´,andveryhotbeverages(May2016). Hermainworkingareasarenutritional epidemiology,dietarypatternanalysesandassociatedmethodologicalissues. Todate,shehas120 peer-reviewedpublicationsandmorethan6000citations. Marilyn Cornelis’s research aims to couple modern high-throughput omic-technologies to traditionalclinical andepidemiological methodstoenhance biologicalunderstanding ofhow diet and nutrition contributes to chronic disease. She has a special interest in the genetics of coffee consumption,caffeinemetabolism,tastepreferencesandotherdietarybehaviors. ix
