Description:The fifth book in the John Jericho Mystery Series!
Drums
were throbbing and psychedelic lights excited the youthful audience at
the Happening of the year. The artist's model, Linda, hired for the
occasion, had just been sloshed with scarlet, green, and purple paint -
the audience was roaring its approval.
The the screams of
pleasure turned to cries of hysteria, as over fifty raiders armed with
clubs, broke into the building and dragged the screaming Linda into the
woods. It was the last time anyone there would see her alive.
When
the crowd dispersed, Mike, her friend, searched vainly for her, then
went to John Jericho for help. Jericho knew Linda; he'd used her as a
model himself. For a different sort of painting.
But when he
arrived in the staid New England town, an unusual site for a Happening,
his questions were met with hostility. How could a flamboyantly painted
naked girl vanish? Why was the owner of the estate concerned that she
had six fingers on one hand? What right did the mob have to attack a
gathering on private property, and for what reason?
The answers were to lead Jericho into a frightening morass of evil.
