M5R 3B5 Canada Telephone: (416)533-9481 Fax: 116)533 0028 i A BriefHistory ofthe College The idea ofa school for boys with the name "St. George's College'" was fostered by Mr. John Bradley andcertain other Anglican laymen who hadassociationswiththeTorontoDiocesanChoir School.ThesuccessoftheDiocesanChoirSchool, which was a summerschool forchoirboys, sug- gestedtheneedforapermanentschool.Acommit- tee was therefore formed and plansdevelopedto establish a fulltime day school with a strong emphasisonmusic.AprivateActincorporatingSt. George'sCollege was passed on March 31, 1961 bytheOntarioLegislature.Theschooladmittedits first seventy-two pupils in 1964.
