All of the majors are required to study abroad in japan for at least a semester. The goal of this study is to investigate the effects of study abroad on those college students and the ways in which they change. The content of the study includes but is not limited to the student's language development, cultural awareness, satisfaction of the current study abroad program, and self-development. It is hypothesized that students who participate in study abroad will not only improve their proficiency-level while in japan but also change as a person with wider perspectives of the world. By participating in study abroad it is also hypothesized that students will mature personally. It will be evidenced by their responses to the questions in the interview. This maturity will be accelerated due to the fact that they are forced to live independently and through this they will also develop leadership skills being a foreigner who stands out. Having finished the interviews the results will be analyzed and measured both quantitatively and qualitatively. v l.?i>::jiJf~O)I§tJ9 7'f.001l!:a:-5rh5!l\T 0 $~ ::J'ff;::: c -:o 'C, 1i?i' 'f: c f:l::{iiJ :a:-;i:[lt-9 0 0) --c-i.b 6 5 iPa ;t f::_, li?i''f:T 0 $1::0> li?i''f:f;:::WJ1"F L --c v' 0 :::. c f'i{iiJft 0) t.:': 6 5 n'" 6 G f;::: li?i''f:ff>I ~f:l::{;$:~-"'f~ A~ Af;::: 6 ;t6'';t rt~{~:;:a: 'b t::_ GT c ~ ;t G:h0 :o>, c~O) .t 5 rt~ {!:; ft 0) t.:': 6 5 :O>a .:C L 'C, li?i''f:ff>I~-"'ff:l:: .:C 0)~{!:; f;::: 13 :51--c'%: --:5v '--c v' 0 0) t.:': 6 5 :O>a?l>:M~~U--c'li?i''f::a:ff,I~L~S?l>:M~~;l~~~~~O)*"J'1::a:~af;:::, ~ '/!J t:''.::c-liJlil]l:Hl'v', li?i''f:M cf~O)~{i:;:a:liJlil]l:-90a 2-1-1 if 'f:Wl fllH;:::-? v' --c O).JiJf~ Carroll (1967) f:l:: i:l'Ci---iM~l3JJ~11t-:a:'TX1.\--c'~ 0~1El.!:: L --c, jl?j'j!:O)WjF"9, "':) ;t VJ c'' 0) < G v' il'¥-9 0 0) n' :a: zo!Hf--c v' 0" 1i?i' 'f:Wl r., n':!Ht:hf:f;!lt v' fi c~, $1:0) i---i1l!~l3.1Jf:l::J:.i¥T 0 O)t.:':a iJzf;:::, illt:1!1', ff-x, 5in35.:C L 'CJW\:1!1'0) 4tU13f;::: i:>v''Cf:l::, Willis, Doble, Sankarayya and Smithers (1977) ;()!
