This new volume of Writings of Bahá’u’lláh contains seven Tablets, all revealed before Bahá’u’lláh’s Declaration in 1863, including the long-awaited retranslation of the Seven Valleys and the Four Valleys. Most of the selections in this volume were revealed during Bahá’u’lláh’s sojourn in ‘Iráq (1853–1863), but the first, the poem known as “Rashḥ-i-‘Amá”, was written in 1852 in the Síyáh-Chál and is among the few He revealed while in His native land of Persia, and in verse. Also included are four other Tablets which all address aspects of the mystical journey of the soul towards its divine Beloved.
