We are very grateful to everyone who has visited our website www.switchtosuccess.co.uk and fi lled in the Happiness Questionnaire, thus helping us with our research. We were delighted that so many people took the trou- ble to get in touch and offer us their personal stories and experi- ences. John Moseley, Commissioning Editor of Wiley, and Iain Campbell, Marketing Manager, have supported us through- out with their professionalism and with their humour – what a powerful combination! Scott Smith from Wiley was the source of irrepressible inventiveness as well as having a song for every occasion. The team at Lancaster University, Amelia Johnson, Angela Burns, Louisa Hebb and Laura Richmond, did a sterling job of the research, providing thought-provoking fi ndings for us to de- velop. So many others helped us along the way with their willing- ness to talk to us about happiness. Other help was gratefully received from people including Sheila Fraser, Janet Orgill, Mar- garet-Anne Clark, Frances Kittles, Christiane Riffaud, Laura vii ffffiirrss..iinndddd SSeecc22::vviiii 1144//0033//22000066 1155::4466::5566 ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS and Mark Williams, Polly Evans, Laura Marks, Tom and Eleanor Hawkins and Terry Carroll. Martin Hawkins prevented our skilful creative avoidance techniques by keeping us supplied with food and coffee and, lastly, Herbert the Briard again stuck to us throughout, an exam- ple to us all with his ability to enjoy happiness in the moment. viii ffffiirrss..iinndddd SSeecc22::vviiiiii 1144//0033//22000066 1155::4466::5566
