I thought of all the people I meet along the way who look at life past, present, and future with a sense of futility and frustration. The Word of God is their answer. The Bible for Hope is a very practical tool, filled with ‘real life’ examples to encourage them along the path to victorious living.” H.B. London Jr. Vice President, Ministry Outreach / Pastoral Ministries Focus on the Family “The Bible for Hope reminds us how deeply God knows, understands, and cares for each of us. It offers a path of healing and greater intimacy with Him.” Josh McDowell Josh McDowell Ministries “The Bible for Hope provides a greater understanding of God’s guidelines for helping us to live happier, healthier lives. The applications for each passage of Scripture make it easier for us to grasp His infinite love for us and understand why caring for our souls should be a priority.” Paul Meier Psychiatrist, Co-founder and Medical Director of New Life Clinics “The Bible for Hope is written with compassion and concern. There is nothing like it. It will meet people at the point of their need and is destined to be a resource to which all of us will continually resort.” Woodrow Kroll President and Senior Bible Teacher Back to the Bible “I used to live with anxiety, depression, fear, hopelessness, and emotional pain every day of my life. I don’t live with any of those things anymore, because I’ve learned the truth about who God is, how He wants me to live, who He made me to be, and how great His love is for me. This same truth is there for you, too, and it can now be most easily found in The Bible for Hope.” Stormie Omartian Author, singer, dancer, actress “The Bible for Hope will enable both trained and untrained people helpers to become Bible-based encouragers who can effectively minister to the many needy souls in our culture. I enthusiastically recommend this much needed resource.” Tim LaHaye Author, pastor, Christian educator “I am genuinely excited about The Bible for Hope! We finally have a tool both pastors and counselors can use together to help hurting people. Representing the best of biblical scholarship and counseling insight, it is written in a warm and practical style that informs the mind, encourages the heart, and moves the soul. Every Christian needs this Bible.” Jerry Falwell Chancellor, Liberty University Contents Dedication About the Editors Contributors Writers Introduction to The Bible for Hope Topical Index Preface to the New King James Version THE OLD TESTAMENT THE NEW TESTAMENT Endnotes Dedication To all those who dare to be open to the heart of God and to the suffering of others.
