Abstract SixspeciesoftheanthribidgenusXenoce,・us,X.saperdoidesGYLLEN-

DAN and X. sala″land''im‘s JORDAN, are recorded 「rom Thailand. Four of them,

ThegenusXenoce''usisthelargestgroupintheAnthribidae,comprisingabout
onehundredspeciesknownuptothepresent,whicharedistributedintheOrientalRe-
gionandthenorthernpartoftheAustralianRegion.
Thesenumerousspeciesaredividedintoseveralnaturalgroupsmainlydiscrimi-
natedbydifferenceinstructureofthemaleantennae. ltis,however,notalwayseasyto
placeaspeciesinapropergroup,ifitisknownonly from females(cf.JORDAN,1894,
l945).
InThailand, twospecies,X timil‘sJORDANandX.salama,ld,・inusJORDAN,have
beenrecordeduptothepresent(cf.JORDAN,l945;SENoH,1995).
I recentlyhadanopportunitytoexamineaseriesofThaispecimensoftheXe,no_
ce''t,ts.TheyareclassifiedintosevenspeciesincludingX timius,X.salamandrjnusand
oneunidentifiablespecieswhichisveryclosefox khasia,1us,thelastoneofwhich,
collectedatSuratThani,thepeninsularpartofThailand,isknownonly fromasingle
femalespecimen. Iwouldliketodescribeitwhen furtherspecimensincludingmales
arecollected.
