The Words ofthe entire Hebrew Scriptures are arrangedjust as they are found in the Sacred Text, Alphabetically, and are Grammatically explained. The student ofthe original has onlyto turn fromhis Bibletothis Lexiconforthe solution ofeveryetymological difficultythatmayobstructhisprogress, andhewill find, withouttroubleorlossoftime, acompleteanalysisofevery word, with an account of its peculiarities, and areference tothe conjugation ordeclension to whichitmaybelong, orifitbe irregular, toits exceptional class. Every word is also referred toits root (where its varioussignijicatioyiswillbe found), andwiththerootis given a conspectus of all the words which owe their derivation toits source. This feature ofthe work is of considerable value, becauseit affords the opportunityofstudyingthe language fromanotherpointofview; for, byturningfrom roottoroot (theroots are distinguished in the alphabetical order bylargertypes), the studentmay see ataglance in what way the various nouns, adjectives, and otherparts ofspeechare developedfromthe radical forms. Another feature of interest is the Grammatical Introduction, which is chiefly devoted to the study of the irregularities of the language. Here will be found, it is believed, every single exceptional word, with a concise explanation ofits peculiarities. The words which, in particular forms, occurbut once in the Scriptures, possess a peculiarinterest, and theyare verynumerous. Theyhave all been distinguished by asmall letter, whichrefers to the passage ofoccurrence at the foot ofthe page.
