ABSTRACT ThegenusAnisogammarusDerzhavin(sens,lat.)(Amphipoda:Gammaroidea:Anisogammaridae) isrepresentedintheeasternNorthPacificcoastal marineregionbyA.pugettensispugettensis(Dana),A. slatteryi,n.sp.,A.epistomus,n.sp.,and A.amchitkana,n.sp. Anisogammarustvetkovae,newspecies, occurs inthe northwestern SeaofJapanand Okhotsk Sea, along with the western Pacific subspecies A. pugettensisdybovskyiDerzhavin. Anisogammaridsarefree-livingomnivores,occurringinthe shallow sublittoralofcold-water,highsalinitycoastlines. Thelargecoxal gills ,eachbearingaccessorygills,are presumablyadvantageousfor survival in partlyanoxic habitats where theycommonly occur.
