Auction Rules
Bid Numbers
- Each individual/couple attending the auction is assigned a bidding number. An insert with the
number will be handed to you at check-in at The Lemon Ball.
- Please use only the bidding number assigned to you.
Live Auction Rules
- To bid, raise your bidding number high so it can be easily seen until the auctioneer or one of the
spotters acknowledges it.
- Bidding order of live auction items is subject to change after publication of the program.
Silent Auction Rules
- You may enter a bid by legibly writing your bidding number and the amount of your bid in the
space provided on the bid sheet.
- Bid raises must be in the minimum increments specified on the bid sheet, otherwise your bid is
void.
- You may re-bid a higher amount as many times as you would like until the silent auction closes.
- In the event of any dispute, the Auction Coordinator shall have the sole and final discretion to
determine the winning bid.
Conditions of Sale
- All auction sales are final “as is” or “as accepted.” There will be no exchange or refund on items
unless otherwise specified.
- The dates and times of items listed as “mutually agreed upon” are to be arranged between the donor
and the buyer.
- All rooms and services must be used within one year unless otherwise specified.
- All private home, resort or vacation items are offered to adults and families; minors must be
accompanied by adults.
- Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and the item donor cannot be held responsible for any personal
injury or property damage resulting from the use of any auction item purchased.
- Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation has endeavored to catalogue and describe the auction items
correctly, but all items are sold “as is.” No statements made in this program or made orally at the
sale or elsewhere shall be deemed a warranty, representation or assumption of liability.
- Bidders should carefully note the specific restrictions, conditions and expiration dates for items
purchased.
- No refunds are permitted for canceled, lost or unused tickets and/or accommodations.
Close of Auction
- The silent auction session will close at 8:00 pm, or as announced, with no further bids accepted.
Super Silent items will remain open throughout dinner, closing at approximately 10:15 pm.
Payment
- All items must be paid in full at check-out. Check-out will begin at 10:15 pm.
- Checks should be made payable to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
- Payment may be made with cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express.
- All items must be taken home the evening of the event, Saturday, January 11.
- Please carefully check envelopes containing gift certificates before leaving.
Deductibility
- Only the portion that exceeds the stated value of the item is tax deductible for federal or state
income tax purposes.
