Students complete an illustration with the help of these texts. Then students compare their results with a partner. 3. Students listen to a presentation about thin layer chromatography given by the teacher. If necessary, they can ask questions. As the students will have to do a TLC in the laboratory there is an explanation how to calculate the results at the end of the presentation. 5. Students consolidate the content in a question loop activity. (For detailed information on the procedure see the teacher’s version below.) Sometimes it helps for the understanding of the content to run through the whole question loop twice. Resources Handouts, strips of paper for the question loop Content-related Students know the fundamentals of thin layer chromatography. learning outcome Students understand the concept of TLC and are ready for their practical work in the laboratory.
