Ifschools are to have such teachers, then teachereducation mustundergo serious renewal in tandem with the reform ofpublic schools. ThefutureoTourcommunitiesandourgreatdemocracyisdirectlyrelatedtothequality of education provided to our young people. Indeed, if our society is to survive and prosper in the next century we must ensure that our children receive the education needed for their roles as citizens ofour state. Qualityeducationisdirectlyrelatedtothequalityoftheprofessionalswhowill deliver the educational services. The education ofMontana's teachers must therefore be a primary focus as we develop our educational system. We recognize and accept our charge to prepare educators able to meet the responsibility to deliver comprehensive quality education in all areas ofthe Big Sky Country.
