• • I A New Tradition In the beginning. . . Taylor University was es- tablished in Fort Wayne, In- diana. Forforty-seven years Taylor University found her home in Fort Wayne as Fort Wayne College. Due to fi- nancial difficulties Taylor was forced to move to Up- land in 1892. Now, 100 years later, Taylor returns to Fort Wayne with the merger of Summit Christian College and Taylor Univer- sity. As a result of the merger the Taylor Univer- Wayne Campus sity-Fort is established. A new but con- tinued tradition of excel- lence marks the 1992-1993 school year. The rural campus of Taylor in Up- land, Indiana, where Taylor moved to in 1892. Taylor University expands from the cornfields of Upland, Indiana, tothe metropolitan city of Fort Wayne. * t I^..,.- .MX Celebrations Festivities added to the excitement of the student's return in the fall and took on the name "Celebrating a New Tradition." The celebration included a week of open houses hosted by the Office of Ad- missions, special chapel services, luncheons, a con- cert, alumni soccer games, a family barbecue and a rib- bon cutting ceremony in- cluding a balloon launch. ONE of the guest speakers during the celebration activities, Chip daggers, addresses faculty and staff. SHE'S got something to smile about!
