The type species M. fulvicrinis is redescribed with a discussion onitsmorphological variations. Twonew species, M. yuexiensis sp. nov. and M. spinisparsula sp. nov. are described fromChina. Imagesof theadultsand the genitalia are provided. Keys to distinguish the three described species are given, anda distributionmapisincluded. Key words(cid:1) Lepidoptera, Yponomeutidae, Metanomeuta, newspecies. Introduction basal 1(cid:1)2 of cell. Male genitalia. Uncus a broad plate. Socius The genus Metanomeuta Meyrick was erectedin1935 elongate, pointed and hooked at apex. Tuba analis toaccommodate two species, M. fulvicrinis Meyrick and membranous. Gnathos rounded or tongue(cid:1)shaped, M. zonoceros Meyrick, from China. Clarke ( 1965) granular. Valva broadly triangular; sacculus with a sharp designated M. fulvicrinis Meyrick as the type species of thorn at apex and with many small teeth or thorns along the genus, and regarded M. zonoceros Meyrick as a ventral margin; transtilla long and sclerotized. Saccus synonym of M. fulvicrinis Meyrick. To date, M. elongate, nearly parallel(cid:1)sided to rounded apex. fulvicrinis is the only valid species of the genus, widely Aedeagus with two rows of fine teeth from basal 2(cid:1)5 or distributed in southern China (Yu&Li, 2001&2002; Li frommiddletoaboutdistal1(cid:1)4; cornuti a cluster of many et al., 2005; Li, 2006) (Fig(cid:2)1) and also reported to fine spines. occur inJapan( Moriuti, 1977). Female genitalia. Papillae analis rather short. The aimof the presentpaper is toreview the genus Apophyses posteriores longer than apophyses anteriores; and add two new species to the world fauna. apophyses anteriores basally branched. Lamella Terminology follows Moriuti ( 1977) , and methods of postvaginalis produced into a pair of rounded and hairy genitalia dissection followed Li and Zheng ( 1996).
