NOTIFICATIONS BY GOVERNMENT REVENUE AND DISASTER MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT - COVID -1 9 – INFECTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL – COMPLETE LOCKDOWN ON 23-01-2022 (S UNDAY ) WITH EXISTING RESTRICTIONS -U NDER THE DISASTER MANAGEMENT ACT , 2005 . [G .O. Ms. No. 42, Revenue and Disaster Management (D M -I V) , 22nd January 2022 , தை 9, பிலவ , திருவள்ளுவர் ஆண்டு -2053 ) No. II( 2 ) /R EVDM /6 0 (d ) / 2 022 . WHEREAS on considering the prevailing Covid -1 9 pandemic scenario and as per the directives of Government of India , Ministry of Home Affairs , State -w ide lockdown /re strictions was enforced throughout the State upto 31-01-2022 in order to control the spread of COVID -1 9 . 2. Now ,t he proposal of the Principal Secretary / Commissioner of Revenue Administration is accepted and the Government hereby issue the following orders under Disaster Management Act , 2005 : i. In the present scenario of increasing trend in the Covid – 19 Omicron variant cases ,b y considering the public interest , complete lockdown to be enforced on 23.01.2022 (S unday ). ii. During this complete lockdown day , all allowed essential activities and restricted activities in existence shall continue to be permitted as that were implemented during last complete lockdown on 16-01-2022 (S unday ). iii. Also , in the interest of passengers coming from outstation , regular autos , rental cars booked through apps shall be allowed to pick up passengers at places like Chennai Central , Egmore railway station and Koyambedu bus stand . This applies to district railway station and mofussil bus stands . 3. Any person violating these measures will be liable to be proceeded against as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act , 2005 , besides legal action under Section 188 of the IPC , and other legal provisions as applicable .
