This book is based largely on the recollections of Staff-Sergeant Gebhardt (nicknamed "Mussolini") and upon some of the former German Guards stationed at the Castle. The largest part of the book consists of the complete & unedited reproduction of the personal and highly illegal diary kept by Corporal Martin Schädlich (Authors Relation) while stationed as a guard at Oflag IVC and lastly details the recollections of those who Served in protecting the Prisoners 'foreign interests' in the form of the Neutral Swiss protecting power in the form of the detailed memories of Rudolf E. Denzler.
Originally released in German before 2016, This edition was Translated into English by the Authors Good Friend Wolfgang Ansorge for English Readers and released in 2016.
