I've taught private golf lessons for over a half-century. Until recently, I tried to teach amateur golfers to use the same techniques that pros use. Almost every pro golfer, has played almost every single shot from a square stance since the pro tour began back in 1916. Even though pros have a hundred advantages over amateurs, instructors have always taught the ultra-demanding PGA method to their amateur clients. So, I taught amateur golfers to play drives, putts, approach shots, chips, flop shots, sand shots, and escape shots from a square stance, too.
