SUGARBEET RESEARCH 2004 REPORT FOREWARD SUGARBEET RESEARCH is an annual compilation of progress reports concerning research by U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service investigators and other cooperators who are engaged in sugarbeet research. The report was assembled and produced at the expense of the Beet Sugar Development Foundation, and is for the sole use of its members and the cooperators. Much of the data has not been sufficiently confirmed to justify general release and interpretations may be modified with additional experimentation. This report is not intended for publication and should not be used for cited reference nor quoted in publicity or advertising. Reproduction of any portion of the material contained herein will not be permitted without the specific consent of the contributor and the Beet Sugar Development Foundation. The report presents results of investigations strengthened by contributions received under Cooperative Agreement between the USD A Agricultural Research Service and the Beet Sugar Development Foundation, along with the California Beet Growers Association, the Western Joint Research Committee, and the Sugarbeet and Education Board of Minnesota and North Dakota. Trade names occur in this report solely to provide specific information and do not signify endorsement by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Beet Sugar Development Foundation or any of the cooperating organizations.
