The sole representativeof thegenus Lipromopha CHUJoet KIMoTo, 1960 in JapanhasbeenL difficili.s・1ooc11ooanaCHuJo, l961, fromtheRyukyuArchipelago.It wasfirstdescribedfromAmami-0shimaIsasasubspeciesofL dがi cillsCHEN,1934, then synonymized with it by KIMoTo (1965). By comparing specimens from the RyukyupopulationcarefullywiththoseofTaiwan,theauthorcametotheconclusion thattheformer isclearlyseparable fromthelatterandshouldberegardedasagood species.Inaddition,asecondmemberofthegenuswasfoundinthesouthernRyukyu Archipelago,andisdescribedasanewspeciesinthepresentpaper.
