Notice of the institution of the Commission's investigation and of a public hearing to be held in connection therewith was given by posting copies of the notice in the Office of the Secretary, U.S. International Trade Commission, Washington, DC, and by publishing the notice in the Federal Register of May 1, 1991 (56 F.R. 20024). The hearing was held in Washington, DC, on July 9, 1991, and all persons who requested the opportunity were permitted to appear in person or by counsel. 1 The record is defined in sec. 207.2(h) of the Commission's Rules of Practice and Procedure (19 CFR § 207.2(h)). . 2 The imported steel wire rope covered by these investigations consists of ropes, cables and cordage, of iron or steel, other than stranded wire, not fitted with fittings or made into articles, and not made of stainless steel or brass plated wire. Such steel wire rope was previously provided for in item 642.16 of the former Tariff Schedules of the United States (TSUS)).
