«Η σηµερινή απόφαση της Βουλής υπονοµεύει καίρια την αξιοπιστία της
χώρας µας. Η αναστολή της εφαρµογής µιας νοµοθεσίας, που ούτως ή άλλως
δεν θα ήταν εφαρµόσιµη αυτή τη χρονική στιγµή, είναι πράξη αχρείαστη και
αδικαιολόγητη. Απλώς στέλνει το µήνυµα πως δεν έχουµε, δυστυχώς,
αποβάλει νοοτροπίες και συµπεριφορές που τόσο πολύ µας έχουν κοστίσει
στο παρελθόν».

Statement by the Minister of Finance Mr. Harris Georgiades

«The Parliament’s decision today undermines the credibility of our Country.
The suspension of the implementation of a law which in any case would not
be applicable at this point in time is unnecessary and unjustified. It merely
sends the message that we have not, unfortunately, eliminated attitudes and
behaviours that have cost us so much in the past».
