Therewereotherproblemsthatgavecauseforconcern too.Germany’spetrochemicalindustrywasanotherregular targetforAlliedbombingraidsandalthoughtheLuftwaffe hadaccumulatedsignificantreserves–ithad580,000 tonsoffuelinMay1944–thesewerequicklydepletedby ongoingoperationssothatbySeptember1944ithadjust 180,000tonsremaining.
