They were written as stand-alone pieces, and thus the expanded final product has somewhat the feel of an “essay collection.” In preparing the volume, I found that editing the essays too much meant that they didn’t really flow. Thus, readers may encounter some repetition across chapters, especially with regard to key theoretical issues. That said, though Spiteful Mutants is episodic—taking on various contemporary issues, from BLM to QAnon—it is essentially about one thing, namely, the evolutionary and social implications of the industrial revolution. It is thus a monograph, which examines phenomena, various and sundry, from one perspective. Some sections of theoretical chapters first appeared in previous books of mine: At Our Wits’ End (with Michael Woodley of Menie, 2018), The Silent Rape Epidemic (2019), Race Differences in Ethnocentrism (2019), and Witches, Feminism, and the Fall of the West (2021). I am grateful to all those who helped me complete this project. Dr. Frank Salter read and commented on the entire manuscript. In developing the essays, I have benefited from discussions with Dr. Michael Woodley of Menie, J.O.A. Rayner-Hilles, Esq., Prof. Ray Blanchard, Prof. Dimitri van der Linden, Prof. Paul Gottfried, Mr. Richard Grannon, and Mr. Josh Neal. I also extend my thanks to Mrs. Susanna Sanlon for her assistance on English religious revivals. I would additionally like to thank Dr. Stephen Laker of Kyushu University, Japan, for reading over the sections related to Japan. Mr. Richard Spencer commissioned the original articles and has brought the final product to its completion. Edward Dutton April 2022 vii Spiteful Mutants
