SPECOMwasestablished26yearsagobytheSt.PetersburgInstituteforInformatics andAutomationoftheRussianAcademyofSciences(SPIIRAS). SPECOMisaconferencewithalongtraditionthatattractsresearchersinthearea ofspeechtechnology,includingautomaticspeechrecognitionandunderstanding,text– to–speechsynthesis,andspeakerandlanguagerecognition,aswellasrelateddomains likedigitalspeechprocessing,naturallanguageprocessing,textanalysis,computational paralinguistics,multi–modalspeech,anddataprocessingorhuman–computerinterac- tion.TheSPECOMconferenceisanidealplatformforknow–howexchange–especially for experts working on Slavic or other highly inflectional languages – including both under–resourcedandregularwell–resourcedlanguages. In its long history, the SPECOM conference was organized alternately by the St. Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation of the Russian Academy of SciencesandbytheMoscowStateLinguisticUniversity(MSLU)intheirhometowns. Furthermore,in1997itwasorganizedbytheCluj-NapocasubsidiaryoftheResearch Institute for Computer Technique (Romania), in 2005 and 2015 by the University of Patras (in Patras and Athens, Greece), in 2011 by the Kazan Federal University (in Kazan,Russia),in2013bytheUniversityofWestBohemia(inPilsen,CzechRepublic), in2014bytheUniversityofNoviSad(inNoviSad,Serbia),in2016bytheBudapestUni- versityofTechnologyandEconomics(inBudapest,Hungary),in2017bytheUniversity ofHertfordshire(inHatfield,UK),in2018bytheLeipzigUniversityofTelecommuni- cations(inLeipzig,Germany),in2019byBogaziçiUniversity(inIstanbul,Turkey),in 2020and2021bySPIIRAS/SPCRAS(fullyonline). SPECOM 2022 was the 24th event in the series, and this time it was organized by the KIIT College of Engineering, Gurugram, India, and held during November 14–16, 2022, in a hybrid format, both physically in Gurugram and online via video conferencing.SPECOM2022wassupportedbytheInternationalSpeechCommunica- tionAssociation(ISCA). During SPECOM 2022, three keynote lectures were given by Hema A. Murthy (Department of CSE, IIT, Madras, India), Shrikanth (Shri) Narayanan (University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA), and Gérard Bailly (GIPSA-Lab, CNRS, GrenobleAlpesUniversity,andINPGrenoble,France). ThisvolumecontainsacollectionofsubmittedpaperspresentedatSPECOM2022 whichwerethoroughlyreviewedbymembersoftheProgramCommitteeandadditional reviewersconsistingofmorethan80specialistsintheconferencetopicareas.Intotal, 51fullpapersandnineshortpapersoutof99paperssubmittedforSPECOM2022were selected by the Program Committee for presentation at the conference and inclusion in this book.
