Two speciesof Bembidiina have been found in the sandy beaches of southern Brazil, Peryphus (Chilio peryphus)cassinensis sp. nov. and Notaphus (Notaphus)laticolle (Brulle). These species were collected only in the supratidal zone ofthe beaches. Peryphus cassinensisn.sp.isplaced withinthe subgenus ChilioperyphusJeannel, together with the two other known speciesofthis subgenus. The only specimen exami ned of NotaphusStephensbelongs to the widespread species N.laticolle. KEYWOR[)S" Carabidae. Bembidiina. Peryphus cassinensis. Notaphuslaticolle" Brazil. Notaphus /aticolle is a widespread species that occurs in central Chile, northern Patagonia, central Argentina, and Uruguay. Specirnens of N. laticolle are found in different kinds of habitats, even ha lophytic ones.
