Getting Ready 2 0 0 7 For Eternity South Central Conference of Seventh-day Adventists 61st Camp Meeting June 8-16, 2007 Oakwood College n Huntsville, Alabama Welcome Camp meeting 2007 Benjamin P. Browne President Welcome to South Central Conference Camp Meeting 007. Our Camp Meeting theme is “Getting Ready For Eternity.” During this Camp Meeting, we will review the history of the Conflict of the Ages. The fol- lowing paraphrase expresses in a sentence the direction of our review: The history of the great conflict between good and evil, from the time it began in heaven to the final overthrow and the total eradication of sin, is a demonstration of God’s love (Patriarchs and Prophets, p.33). It is our intent to present the patience, compassion and the love of Divinity in this great controversy. We will begin our review of this conflict or controversy between good Dana C. Edmond and evil by focusing on the controversy that started in heaven. Why was Executive Secretary there a conflict of interest? What were some of the issues? Next, we will study the controversy as it continued in Eden. After studying the con- flict in Eden, we will review Divinity’s plan to restore harmony and end the controversy through the Plan of Redemption. We will then focus on this conflict as it continues today in our lives. On the last Sabbath, we will concentrate on Eden restored and the controversy ended. One day this conflict will be over, and we will live together in a new environment, in a New Heaven and on a New Earth. The intent and purpose of this Camp Meeting is to encourage and assist all who are “Getting Ready For Eternity.” Thank you for your love and support of God’s work in your local church, the South Central Conference, and around the world.
