Finally, hehasover50 researcharticles(since2014,hehasreceivedover850citationsandgainedanh-indexof18). vii Preface to ”Social Safety and Security” As most experienced readers appreciate the international scientific review of Safety for its uniqueperspectiveonvulnerableindividualsandrisk-relatedbehavioursinvariousmanifestations ofourdailylife,wehaveorganizedthepublicationofaSpecialIssuethatfocusesonanumberof contemporaryissuesinsocialsafetyandsecurity. Thispublicationprovidesthelatestresearchin importantthematicareas,highlightingintimatepartnerviolenceagainstwomen,alcoholuse,inmate sexualvictimizationofmalesduringincarceration,andtheutilityofmodernmodelstopredictthe historyofarrestamongintimatepartnerviolentmen.Similarly,findingsarepresentedforvulnerable individualsconcerningthechallengesoftheirsafetyandcommunityintegration. Withintheissue, twokeypublicationsonroadsafetyshedlighton,first,thecomparisonofroadsafetystatusbetween GreeceandNorway,andsecond,ontheevaluationofthedrivingfactorsindepression. This publication begins, in Chapter 1, with investigating the predictors of intimate partner violence against women in a sub-Saharan country experiencing a booming alcohol industry. In Chapter2,thecrucialtopicofsexualvictimizationofavulnerablegroupinGreekprisonsisdiscussed bypresentingfindingsfromarecentresearch. InChapter3,thepredictionofahistoryofarrestin menwhoperpetrateintimatepartnerviolenceiscoveredusingnon-linearneuralnetworkmodels. The4thchapterwaswrittentocapturethefindingsfromanexcitingcommunity-basedprojectto createamorewelcomingandsafecommunityforallmembers,especiallymorevulnerablemembers suchasthosewithdementiaand/oranintellectualdisability. Thenextcontribution,inChapter5, isacross-culturalstudywhichcomparesroadsafetycultureamongprivateandprofessionaldrivers insignificantlydifferentcontextsinNorwayandinGreece. InChapter6,thefocusshiftsondata resultingfromadriversimulatorexperimentinGreeceevaluatingdrivingperformanceindepression betweenpatientsandhealthydrivers.
