The ICSINC2015 Workshop on Telecom Big Data based Research and Application (IWT- BDRA) promotes the in-depth exploration of the most recent research and development findings on the basis of telecom big data. This telecom big data workshop welcomes the participation of the industry to showcase and commercialize their relevant technology and application as well as products. This book embraces a variety of research studies presented at the International Conference on Signal and Information Processing, Networking and Com- puters (ICSINC), held in Beijing, China, October 17–18 2015. The research areas are a con- vergence of the similarity with both algorithms and applications. The current state and trend of signal processing were exchanged in this conference. 48 papers were selected for publication in the proceedings. Each of the papers submitted to the conference was peer reviewed by at least two specialists in the author’s research field. A paper typically goes through at least one revision cycle before being accepted for publication. The authors of the papers published in this book have enabled future investigators to gain ready access to the results of their research. Some highlights in this book: – Software Defined Network, e.g. analyzing the requirements of future mobile Internet and illustrate the restrictions of using SDN in mobile operator networks to bypass the restric- tions and address the challenges. – Internet Application, e.g. a formal model based on learning to rank for hybrid recom- mendation that integrates diversity and the representation of diversity features by using entropy based on attributes of users and items. – Signal Processing in Networked Systems, e.g. an algorithm that focuses on assigning channels to bring a high connectivity of the whole network while maintaining a robust network at the same time. – Spectrum Estimation and Modeling, e.g. a new algorithm based on deep Q-learning for the channel selection model of a Secondary User (SU) with reconfigurable RF front-ends. The algorithm could help SU to select the channel for the maximum cumulative reward. – Spectrum Shaping and Filters, e.g. an adaptive spread spectrum method or effective embed- ding and detection of audio watermarking. The method introduces audio data redun- dancy analysis at the watermark receiver to achieve enhanced extraction performance. – Information Theory and Statistics, e.g. a method extracts time-related characteristics from processes and then compares all of them together by using statistical hypothesis tests in different successive populations. Such a method could not only allow accurate detection when some parts of the processes started to have abnormal behavior: longer or shorter, but also enable identification of which parts are involved. – WCDMA Data, e.g. a novel WCDMA data based LTE site selection (WDLSS) scheme. The WDLSS scheme analyses five factors of existing WCDMA sites, including the height, the density, the signal power, the coverage control and the interference. – Big Data Assisted Telecom Operation, e.g. logistic regression and neural network respec- tively identify the 2G/3G users who are most likely to immigrate to a 4G network. – Big Data Analysis of Network Quality and Performance, e.g. a coverage self-optimization algorithm (CSOA) based on big data analytics, by obtaining and analyzing the counters (records the performance indicators of networks) from existing network. ix IICCSSIINNCC__FFMM..iinndddd iixx 22//1199//22001166 11::2222::3344 PPMM
