Senecio albaniae (Asteraceae: Senecioneae), a New Species from Central Peru Hamilton Beltran Museo <le Historia Natural, Universidad National San Marcos, Av. Arenales 1256, Apartado 14-0434, Lima, Peru Abstract. A new species, Senecio albaniae (As¬ capitulis majoribus pedicellis longioribus insidentibus, ab ambobus foliis decurrentibus distinguitur. teraceae: Senecioneae), is described from central Peru. The species is characterized by its shrubby Shrubs to 0.6 m high; stems much branched, habit, decurrent leaf bases forming winged stems, sparsely tomentose and winged from the decurrent and solitary capitula on elongated peduncles. The leaf bases, the wings 2—3 mm wide.
