Scanning North Carolina Dave Swan, founder, has focused on imaging, document management and Enterprise content management, both in sales and support. In addition, Swanco has established relationships with people and organizations that add immensely to the depth of knowledge and experience Swanco has as its resources. With this experience and knowledge Swanco was founded in 2012. Presently Swanco is an industry leader in Historical Document Digital preservation, advanced conversion of microfilm, microfiche and aperture cards to digital media suitable for use with ECM Systems, as well consulting and fine tuning existing ECM installations. In addition, by client request, Swanco, Inc. has expanded to include document scanning with the same precision and quality that has made the Microform conversion so popular. Microform and Document Conversion Swanco helps clients bring their old world paper and image technology to the new world of digital images. We use the highest quality equipment, software and technology to help achieve the absolute best results. This includes, but is not limited to: Microfilm, Microfiche, and Aperture Card conversion to digital, bulk and on-location scanning, historical document digital preservation, as well as digital to high resolution color microfilm. In addition, we provide appropriate automated and manual metadata input for fast retrieval and organization. This process may include adding indexing and/or content OCR (Optical Character Recognition) for difficult to find phrases within a converted document. Our decades of imaging and document management expertise help guide our clients to the best possible solution for their organization. Microfiche Conversion Converting to Digital In today's fast paced digital world, we don't have time to look up an old image on Microfilm. This old world technology is appropriate for permanent archive or state regulations, but it has no place in our modern offices where high speed information assimilation is needed for today's efficient automated business processes. Top Processing Equipment and Software: We invested in the best software and hardware to make sure that not only are the new digital images suitable for Document Management and ECM use, but have absolutely the highest quality available at any cost. Swanton Dynamic Processing:Our unique process individually assesses each image and adjusts Contrast, Exposure, and Black and White Threshold to create the easiest to read and OCR images possibly attainable. (Most companies make one adjustment per batch) Many times our image is much better than the original. Historic Document conversion and preservation Nothing is more sad than watching a one of a kind historic document be slowly and unintentionally destroyed by innocent hands. Perhaps sadder is having historic documents that can't be accessed for fear of usage deterioration. The solution: Have Swanco create high resolution color digital images, that are then converted to easy to read bitonal digital images and optionally, as full color high resolution color 35mm microfilm for high quality long term archive. Microfilming Despite many naysayers, Microfilm is not dead. If properly stored, it can last 100's of years and fulfills many state and industry standards for "Optically Readable Original". Some Microfilm also maintains the fabric and texture of the original document that typical bitonal digital images just don't have. Of course the combination of Microfilm and Digital is the best combination for easy access and protected arvhive. Laserfiche and Capture Consulting. We help Clients maximize the return on their Document and Enterprise Content Management systems by fully taking advantage of the features that they have already invested in. David Swan of Swan ECM Consulting has been involved with Document Management and Enterprise content management for more than a decade, and imaging and printing for another 15 years before that.
