Kando When Brandy Trentler’s wealthy family insists she marry the jerk who cheated on her, she signs up for the Stryxian mate lottery. Who knew her number would be drawn in the first round? Nothing goes right after that—the transport ship is attacked, she is captured by the enemy Morr-ta aliens and thrown in prison. When a gorgeous Stryxian warrior rescues her, she thinks she’s won freedom and her fated mate, but he has some big, bad secret and apparently, it’s a deal breaker for him. Kando Cardax probably shouldn’t go back into the enemy’s lair to rescue the human female, but he cannot leave her to certain death. He also cannot hide his metal cyborg parts from her forever, especially since with each passing moment, he’s falling in love with her. Passions flare as the two take refuge in a hidden section of the enemy base, but a discovery that could upend the Morr-ta war makes their odds of survival slim. Kando will do anything to protect Brandy as they fight to flee the enemy base, even if it means revealing himself as a cyborg to save her. All he’s known is fear and aversion to cyborgs like him. Why should he expect Brandy to react any differently? And how will he let her go when he is asked to make the ultimate sacrifice to save both the Stryxian and human species? This is book two of the Stryxian Alien Warrior series, which is designed to be read in order. I write what I love to read, so there is always consent and a happy ending, and no cliffhangers or cheating. ONE BRANDY I blamed this whole mess on Brandon Brecklin-Stroud the Third. Every single bit of it. That was my only thought as I sat on a bench with the other women destined for settlements on the planet Stryxia. The ship was comfortable, even though the passengers weren’t. These aliens had technology far beyond ours. Their ships were sleek and incredibly fast. They traveled at sunlight speed using a secret power source, which my father would give anything to get a hold of. In fact, the last thing he said to me before I left forever was: “Brandy Anne Trentler, make yourself useful and send me the schematics of their ships.” My father, Aaron Trentler, owned aerospace, personal transport, and media companies. He was absurdly rich. I grew up with every privilege and had to deal with my family being in the news fairly regularly…never for good things. The Trentlers were not known to be humanitarians, or even decent people, really. Which was why I had never fit in with them. Me, the rebel who cursed, flunked out of finishing school, dated boys who were not rich, got a psychology degree, of all things, and well, signed up for the Stryxian lottery. I probably should have pondered that last choice a bit more, because here I was, rubbing my sweaty palms on my standard-issue flight suit legs and hoping to god this trip was over soon. It was warm in here, but I was still cold. The only redeemable thing I had done in my twenty-five years was to become engaged to Brandon Brecklin-Stroud the Third, whose family was real luxury real estate developers, but I had promptly disappointed everyone by breaking off the engagement when I caught the lying bastard in bed with two—two—other women. My parents had expected me to marry him anyway, and pure defiance drove me to sign up for the Stryxian lottery. Of the millions of women who had done so, I didn’t think my number would be chosen among the first groups to be shipped out. But here I was, on a transport with a dozen other terrified women destined for an alien planet and —eventually—an alien husband. Well, only a couple were terrified. Most just looked nervous, which was how I felt. A Stryxian male strode through the cabin on the way to the rear of the ship. Every female eye followed his movements. Damn, they were easy to look at. At nearly seven feet tall, they were muscular and absurdly handsome. Seriously—all of them. They had strong, powerful features, like those of Greek gods, complete with wings. Wings! Fine scales covered their bodies in gleaming shades of metal. They wore armor over their chests. Their eyes were mostly black with only a small bit of white at the edges. That was kind of unnerving, but the rest was just delicious. To think—each of us would have our pick of these hot dudes. We were being sent to the newly
