The active involvement of our alumni volunteers is the force which enables our alma mater to grow. This directory is a gift from us to encourage your participation in our alumni programs. As you review this current roster of Rush graduates, I am confident that you will be impressed, as I have been, with the diversity of our colleagues. Melcher, M.D. ’75 President IV ABOUT THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION Membership in the Alumni Association of Rush Medical College is automatic upon your graduation. There are no annual dues or membership fees. The goals of the Association are: to promote acquaintance and good fellowship for the mutual benefit of alumni and the college; to provide support and assis¬ tance for the college through the Rush Medical College Alumni Fund; and to seek to advance the profession of medicine by representing and promoting the highest standards of excellence in the preparation for and in the practice of medicine. The leadership of the Association comprises members of the Executive Council and the Class Agent Network. Members of the Executive Council are elected by the alumni-at-large. Class agents are elected by their class¬ mates prior to graduation. An important goal of the Association and its leadership is alumni philanthropy. The monies raised through alumni giving are used to provide student scholarship as well as to support alumni publications and programs. All alumni are encouraged to support the Association at any level: The General Fund: Gifts under $150 The Sesquicentennial Fund: Gifts between $150 and $499 The Herrick Fund: Gifts between $500 and $999 The Brainard Fund: Gifts between $1,000 and $1,499 Annual gifts of $1,500 or more qualify for membership in the Benjamin Rush Society. The goal of the Society is to provide the dean with financial assistance for research, scholarships and student support programs.
