(Rubiaceae) share persistent stipules, appar¬ on Psychotria eurycarpa Standi.; Palicourea faxlucens ently nocturnal flowers, well-developed white corollas (Lorence & Dwyer) Lorence is based on Psychotria with two plano-convex pyrenes that generally have (C. Taylor; Palicourea heydei (Standi.) additionally, most of these species have reduced Lorence is based on Psychotria heydei Standi.; stipules and relatively large fruits. The separation of Palicourea hondensis (Standi.) C. M. Taylor is based Psychotria and Coussarea has been problematic at least in Central America, but removal here of six (Standi. & Steyerm.)
