. 1. . This Repai~ Parts Scale (RPS) is aQ entitlement document r~ised by MATERIEL DIVISION, ..
. DIRECTORATE.ofCAPITAL PROCUREMENT, ENTITLEMENTS and SCALES SECTION to authorise·units,
' Technical supp.ott sub-units and Workshops that have the trade qualified personnel and facilities to dral,y those
-repair parts for which they are entitled, for the repair and maintenance of the Defence inventory ot...equipment.
Basis of Scale
?· Jhe RP.S is assessed-on the premise that a maintainable item is any essential repair part or accessory
~ which, through deterioration, breakage, normal wear and tear or.loss is likely to requite replatiimem. duririg the
_,._.. oxpected life of the equipment, and is an item which could not be economically repaired. or fabricgted in
Workshops.

4. The following-information is to be supplied with each stocking quantity forecast:
a. Repair Parts Scale number,
b. Equipment asset NSN,
. c. Equipment asset name,
d. Number of equipments to be supported,
e. Duration of the support in months,
f. The level of repair at which the support is to be provided -ie. U, F or 8,
g. Type. of forecast required if more than one equipment involved ie. a single forecast per
equipment or a consolidated report listing all equipments in one report, and
h. A forecast title, if required.
How to Use RPS
5. Refer to the GROUP INDEX page of the RPS 19 locate the page number of !he group required.
6. Refer to the GROUP ILLUSTRATION .i!nd identify the item required by its illustration number.
7. Refer the illustration number to the ITEM NUMBER (column 1) to obtain the designation, manufacturers
code and part number, NSN, number off per assembly, .UOI, expEind<il5ility ai'ld level of repair details,;-

a. If the NIIN is known refer to the NIIN sequence index to locate the group arid,. illustration number of the
. item.
Illustrated Items
9. All illustrated items have an accompanying illustration number in column one of that groups text page.
eg: AAB 007 - indicates number 7 on the illustration for group AAB.

before preparing indents.
Codes and Part Numbers
15. Prime Manufacturers Code and Part Number, if available will appear directly below the NSN field. If not
available the field will be "NIL" or blank.
16. Suppliers Code and Part Number, if available will appear directly below the Prime Manufacturers Code
and Part Number field. If not available the field will be "NIL" or blank.
Scates Change Requests (Copies Included In This RPS)
17. Scales Change Requests may be raised by:
Senior RAEME Representatives, if they co'nsider that previously non-scaled items could
become a recurring requirement, or
Units, Repair Elements, Supply Company's and Battalions who find through user experience
that the scale is inadequate either by range or quantity of repair parts, and
c. Personnel who have identified errors of omissions in the text or illustrations.
t8. · Additional copies of Scales Chan9e Requests are available from the address as noted in paragraph 3.
t9. Scales Change Requests will be acknowledged by ENTITLEMENTS and SCALES SECTION. If a change
is approved t•1h en an a'· m.. endment to the .. RPS will be issued.
20. ··: It is emphasized that Units, Workshops, Supply Company's and Battalions are free to adjust their holding
immediately .user experience indicates the need. Adjustment action does not require prior approval of a Scales
Change Requ_est. The latter is required by TSA so that the RPS data base may be updated to reflect the latest
infbrmation ... T.Ilis data ·may then be used for subsequent initial stocking of repair parts reflecting latest usage
experience ..· ·.
