Immediately upon receiving Christ as my Savior, I was given a New Testament which I devoured in four days. I then began reading through the entire Bible. What an eye opener! Like so many of my generation, I was thoroughly indoctrinated by the evolutionary propaganda that was fashionable in the mid to late sixties. I cannot even begin to describe how morally and spiritually devastated I was when I first “bought the lie.” I simply connected the dots: If evolution is true, everything can be explained and accounted for without reference to God. If God is not needed to explain anything, then God is not needed. If God is not needed, I had no reason to even believe that God existed, much less to trust in Him or live my life in a way that would be approved by Him.
