It is one of 58 schools in the North Carolina Community College System and is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Associate Degree in Applied Science and the Associate Degree in General Education. RCC is also accredited bythe North Carolina Board ofNursing, the North Carolina Board ofCosmeticArts and Redken Laboratories in Conogo Park, California. Students Public Law 93-380 Robeson CommunityCollege adheres to the guidelines developed bythe Department ofHealth, Education and Welfare regarding the Privacy Rights of Parents and Students. The collegeprovides students and parents ofdependentstudents access to official records directly related to them and limits dissemination of per- sonally identifiable information without the student's consent. Students enrolled at Robeson Community College may review guidelines and pro- cedures regarding Public Law 93-380 in the RCC Student Handbook and in the Office of Records and Registration. Nondiscrimination Policy Robeson Community College's Board ofTrustees and staffrecognize the importance of equal opportunity in all phases of the college's operations and has officially adopted a position of nondiscrimination on the basis of race, color, sex, age, religion, handicap, national origin, or other nonrele- vant factors. This policyapplies to both students and employees atall levels of the college's operations. Drugs and Alcohol Policy The use and abuse of drugs and alcohol are subjects of immediate concerns in our society. These problems are extremely complex and ones forwhich there are no easysolutions. From a safety perspective, the users and/or abusers of drugs or alcohol may impair the well-being of all em- ployees, students, and the public at large, and may result in property damage to the college. Therefore, in compliance with the Federal Drug- FreeWorkplace and Drug-Free Schools and Campuses Regulations, it is the policy of Robeson Community College that the unlawful use, possession, distribution, manufacture, or dispensation of a controlled substance or alcohol, is prohibited while on college premises, the college workplace, or as part ofanycollege sponsored activity. Anyemployee orstudentviolating this policy will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termi- nation or expulsion and referred forprosecution. The specifics ofthis policy maybe found in the RCCStudentHandbook, RCC Library, and the Coun- seling and Career Center. Drug and Alcohol Abuse Awareness Prevention Program Robeson Community College operates a drug abuse awareness preven- tion program for all students and employees. Counseling, information and referral services are provided by professionally trained counselors. Coun- selors are available to talkwith anyone concerning drug/alcohol use. Coun- selors maybe contacted directlyorindirectly.
