He has written widely on international institutions, human rights and democracy, including Bosnia: Faking Democracy After Dayton (1999, Pluto Press) and From Kosovo to Kabul: Human Rights and International Intervention(2002, Pluto Press). Barrie Collins is the author of Obedience in Rwanda: a Critical Question (1998, Sheffield Hallam University Press). He has taught the interna- tional politics of Africa at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London, and is currently researching African peace processes. Fiona Fox is the former Head of Media Relations at CAFOD, the Catholic aid agency. She was commissioned by the Caritas Network to write a discussion paper on the Politicization of Humanitarian Aid in 1999, and has widely promoted debate on this theme within the UK aid movement. She has written articles for a variety of journals including World Today,TabletandDisasters. Chris Gilliganis a Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Ulster. He has written extensively on Northern Irish politics, culture and society and is co-editor, with Jon Tonge, of Peace or War? Understanding the Peace Process in Northern Ireland(1997, Ashgate). Philip Hammondis Senior Lecturer in Media at South Bank University. He is co-editor, with Edward S. Herman, of Degraded Capability: The Media and the Kosovo Crisis(2000, Pluto Press). Edward S. Herman is Professor Emeritus of Finance at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and has written extensively on political economy; among his books is Manufacturing Consent: the Political Economy of the Mass Media, co-authored with Noam Chomsky. Jon Holbrookis a barrister and writer on legal and political issues. His articles have appeared in The Times, The Independent, and the New Law Journal on issues ranging from the International Criminal Court and x
