Ms. SLAUGHTER, from the Committee on Rules, reported the following resolu-
tion; which was referred to the House Calendar and ordered to be printed
RESOLUTION
Providing for consideration of the bill (H.R. 3963) to amend
title XXI of the Social Security Act to extend and im-
prove the Children's Health Insurance Program, and for
other purposes.
1 Resolved, That upon the adoption of this resolution
2 it shall be in order to consider in the House the bill (H.R.
3 3963) to amend title XXI of the Social Security Act to
4 extend and improve the Children's Health Insurance Pro-
5 gram, and for other purposes. All points of order against
6 consideration of the bill are waived except those arising
1 under clause 9 or 10 of rule XXI. The bill shall be consid-
2 ered as read. All points of order against provisions of the
3 bill are waived. The previous question shall be considered
4 as ordered on the bill to final passage without intervening
5 motion except: (1) one hour of debate equally divided
6 among and controlled by the chairman and ranking minor-
7 ity member of the Committee on Energy and Commerce
8 and the chairman and ranking minority member of the
9 Committee on Ways and Means; and (2) one motion to
10 recommit.
11 Sec. 2. During consideration of H.R. 3963 pursuant
12 to this resolution, notwithstanding the operation of the
13 previous question, the Chair may postpone further consid-
14 eration of the bill to such time as may be designated by
15 the Speaker.
