The author has given us not merely an absorbingly interesting record of his own eventful life, but in these reminiscences, he makes apt and incisive observations on happenings of world interest during his lifetime. As one revels in the comment, the conversations and the flashed of humour that scintillate in these pages it is hard to realize that the whole was planned and written within ten months of Dr. Mackinnon's death and that the final chapters were composed while his strength was swiftly ebbing away.
