Please note: This figure does notinclude temporary foreign workers, students ortemporary residents. Also, those that selected a certain province as theirdestination ofchoice on their permanent residence application are not required to move to the province indicated. This means that there couldpotentially be data missing due to immigrants indicating once province as their destination and then actually moving to another. • The annualized percentage growth from 1996 to 2006 for the Mackenzie Region was -2 6%. . The annualized percentage growth for the same period for the province was 12.2%. • The top trades that new apprentices registered for, in 2006, in the Mackenzie Region are: Heavy Equipment Technician (18), Electrician (14) and Welder (12). The top trades that new apprentices registered for, in 2006, in Alberta are: Welder (4,423), Electrician (3,051) and Heavy Equipment Technician (2,191). Please note: These figures are based on employerlocation and onlyaccount forfirstyear apprentices. This is not the running total ofall apprentices currently enrolled in all trade programs from yearone up to theircertificate.
