Patent: GB2473 767 Rifle butt pad ar ea on the shoulders and the front contour of the chest line has been cut & enhanced allowing for shooting accuracy, ease of rifle butt positio ning and correct eye to gun sight relief. These cuts stops the user straining & pulling in the front armour carrier when holding a rifle in the firing position The upper shoulders have 3 molle straps for the attachment of a communication s system. The rear plate pouch has been especially designed to hold a large Osprey plate. Th e Pouch flap allows the plate to drop down 50mm for the correct optimal alignment when in the prone position but still ascertains securit y and personal protection. This is used on the Mk4 & Mk4A Osprey carrier. The carrier has 2 double grab handles on the rear allowing for a 2 man lift making it easier to get the casualty out of trouble fast. The handles have been especially strengthened with cross stitched webbing straps. This design was also made for the Mk4 & Mk4A Osprey carrier. 2 PROPRIETARY - CONFIDENTIAL SHOULDERS ADJUSTMENT If your armour carrier needs adjusting for the best optimal fit you can adjust the shoulders up or down by the rear buckles hook and loop fastening straps which are located inside the main rear panel of the carrier. Ensure the soft armour and plates are fitted at this point. The shoulders buckles have an adjustable mechanism allo wing for a more custom fit for smaller or larger persons. The rear buckles straps can be moved up or dow n to gain the correct alignment on the shoulders. Inside the main rear carrier panel there are 2 shoulder stra ps. These straps are connected by hook and loop and can be peeled off to relax and release the shoulder buckle s or pulled down to pull in and tighten up the shoulders. This design allows the soldier to adjust and tighten due to weight loss. The plate pouch was designed to hold the large Osprey pl ates and needed additional stronger flap to keep it upright and in a central position, unlike a strap system wh ich exposes the plate. 3 PROPRIETARY - CONFIDENTIAL FITTING OF LARGE HARD ARMOUR PLATES The front and rear carriers panels have an opening flap on the base, peel this open and look inside for the large plate pouch, undo the plate pouch flap and slide the plate in, ensure the plate faces away from the body being the correct way round. The front and rear armour carrier panels will have a large opening flap on the base, look inside and you will see a plate pouch on the outer wall, peel open the plate pouch flap. Patent: GB2473766 Pl ace the hard armour plate into the pouch pocket en suring it’s the correct way round and the front faces aw ay from the body. When the plate is inside the pouch ensure the plate goes to the top of the pouch and then close the pouch flap and smooth it over so the hook and loop is secure. Follow the same procedure for the rear plate. The rear plate pouch has a longer flap than the front; this allows the plate to be lowered down by approx. 50mm to gain the correct prone shooting position. 4 PROPRIETARY - CONFIDENTIAL FITTING OF SMALL ECBA HARD ARMOUR PLATES If you are planning to just use the small ECBA side plates then ensure you can locate the small internal plate pouches inside the main front and rear plate pouches. Both these plate pouches were first designed was used with the Mk4 & MK4A Osprey carriers. Open up the large internal plate pouch and you will see a smaller ECBA plate pouch which is positioned over the heart area when worn. Open up the pouch flap and slide the small ECBA plate inside. Patent: GB2473766 Ensure the plate pushes all the way to the top of the pouch. Remember that plates should be regularly inspected. The ECBA plates will be equilateral over the heart area front and rear. Once the plate is inside, close the pouch flap and smooth it over. Close the outer panel flap and seal it down. Follow the same procedure for the rear plate. 5 PROPRIETARY - CONFIDENTIAL FITTING SOFT ARMOUR (Remember to regulary ch eck the soft armour) The top internal part of the front carriers shoulders have 2 small 5cm strip openings to help co-locate the end tabs of the soft armour inserts. Slide the soft armour up i nside the carrier so the hook tabs go up inside. Connect the armour into the shoulders by sticking the ho ok and wool patches together. This assists with keeping soft armour inserts in position and upright. Follo w the same procedure to fit the rear soft armour. Openings in shoulder Wool tab on soft armour The soft armour attachments were used on the Mk4 & Mk4A armour carrier to keep the soft armour up in the correct position. Patent: GB2473767 Soft armour panels should be inserted inside both the front and rear carrier panels. The front of the carrier has 2 draw bridge flaps, lift these up to locate the buckles. These buckles can be pulled tight to make the waist tight er or slacken off to make larger. Take out the T Bar buckles to adjust the straps then re-insert and test again fo r size and comfort. The T bar fitment must lock into the waist cumber-bands molle loop. The other option is to ju st move the T bar buckles out or in on the molle cumber-bands. 7 PROPRIETARY - CONFIDENTIAL NECK COLLAR AND SHOULDER BRASSARDS CONNECTION For upper throat protection the neck collar can be attached by a hook, loop & popper stud combination that connects onto the carrier’s inner collar offering a 3 way secure attachment. When the carriers cutaway has been activated, the front and rear panel’s halves will safely disconnect and come apart making a clean break. Best works when under pressure and with weight so the 2 halves ping open. The cutaway in this set up can be initiated within 5 seconds and reconnected within 30 seconds. The full armour carrier will make a clean cut-away even with the extremity neck collars attached and the 2 shoulder brassards connected. The shoulders brassards will peel off when you cutaway and should remain on the upper arms so they don’t get misplaced. These can easily be reconnected. The cutaway in this set up can be initiated within 5 seconds and reconnected within 90 seconds. 9 PROPRIETARY - CONFIDENTIAL TO MAKE THE CARRIER FORM PART OF THE PLATE CARRIER The combat carrier can also form part of the Hybrid plate carrier by attaching on the unique Osprey plate pouches onto the carrier. Patent Pending: GB1314146.0 Plate pouch front Side on Rear plate pouch Take off the plate pouches from the Hybrid plate carrier and molle them onto the carrier to transform the carrier into a Carrier/ plate carrier. Basket weave the plate pouc hes onto the carrier evenly and at the correct height? Make sure the cutaway handle is exposed in case of eme rgency. The cutaway and reconnection will react in the same way without any hindrance. LOAD CARRIAGE BELT ATTACHMENT For additional pouches to be attached the carrier can con nect a belt making it interoperable with each other To attach the belt to the carrier use the unique quick release T Bar buckles. These buckles were originally designed for the MK4 & MK4A Osprey carrier and design right subsist. Simply push the female buckles through the molle so they hang down ready to connect the belt. The cutaway will react in the same way but this time use both hands with one hand on the belt buckle and one on the carrier handle ready. 10
