Nagar. Whereas the above said Act of 1894 has been repealed by the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 and keeping in view the provisions of Section 24(1) of the Act of 2013, a declaration vide notification No. 6/40/2013/6HG1/645 dated 02.09.2014 was issued under Section 6 for Acquisition of Land measuring 309.2501 Acre of Village Kartarpur (108.0938 Acre) Village Kansala (129.7500 Acre) & Village Boothgarh (71.4063 Acre) for the public purpose of setting up of Education City phase -1 in the area of Mullanpur (New Chandigarh) Tehsil Kharar, District S.A.S. Nagar. Whereas due to some administrative reasons, the award for the acquisition of the above said land could not be announced within the period of twelve months from the date of declaration of the above said notification, as such the entire proceedings for acquisition of the said land has lapsed. Now, therefore, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to notify that the entire land acquisition proceedings initiated vide notification No. 6/40/13/6HG1/2815 dated 09.09.2013 issued under Section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 and notification No. 6/40/13/6HG1/2815 dated 02.09.2014 issued under Section 6 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 to be read with sub-section (1) of Section 24 of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 for acquisition of land measuring 309.2501 acre falling in the aforementioned villages for the public purpose of setting up of Education City, phase -1 in the area of Mullanpur (New Chandigarh) Tehsil Kharar, District S.A.S.
