We offer a complete fencing installation service So when I got this ‘boutique call’ to visit mARmaLaDe’s new premises for its launch on or if you prefer purchase the materials from our Saturday, I had to say yes. I tried to push away the question of why the Countrystore where our fully experienced staff mARmaLaDe people thought I needed a make-over in will happily give you all of the advice you need the first place and concentrated, instead, on the fun factor. to erect your own fencing or gates. mARmaLaDe owner Lisa Fifer decided to move from the original premises in Chard Road to a new shop in West Street in the centre of town to increase the footfall Opening times: into the women’s clothing shop (see story on page 10). I have to admit, I had only visited the original shop on Weekdays 7.30 am to 5.30 pm two occasions and, although it was situated in a lovely old building, it was a little too out of the way to just pop Saturday 8.30 am to 4.00 pm into if I was in town. Exactly the reason Lisa decided to relocate. Sunday 10.00 am to 2.00 pm As I walked through the churchyard on Saturday afternoon towards the new mARmaLaDe for my 01308 421545 uuABOVE,owner of mARmaLaDe Lisa Fifer, left, and manager Lucy Whittaker appointment, I was utterly astounded at what I saw. show off some of the glorious pashminas on sale at the new premises of the A vision before me — what a shop front! I was already excited and when I walked through the door, the new shop, I have to say, looked fabulous. Lisa and manager Lucy Whittaker clearly have a flair for fashion and design, making the shop floor a joy to wander around and the two floors each offer some fantastic garments at realistic prices. On my arrival, I was whisked up to the third floor, which will be used as office and storage space later, and treated to a lovely manicure by Reflections Hair and Beauty Salon’s Louise Hallett, who had accompanied other therapists from The Awareness Centre during the launch day to provide visitors with free treatments. After my nails were beautifully shaped and painted, Lucy took me down to the second floor where she ‘dressed me up’ in some outfits and we discussed body shapes and what cuts of clothes suit which shapes. I tried on a gorgeous midnight blue longline, viscose tunic with some high quality ‘jeggings’ (denim-look leggings) and some fabulous shoes. The prices were a Seaton’s nice surprise, particularly the tunic which, although viscose fabric felt more like silk. Established 1989 I had a great time and it’s so good to see a thriving and growing smart business in this economy, brightening up the town which will, I am sure, accompany River REGENCY WINDOWS Cottage and Trinity House in enticing more shoppers Ltd from outide the town to come and browse.
