Preview (prospectus) 72nd ANNUAL SPRING JURIED EXHIBITION

72th ANNUAL SPRING JURIED EXHIBITION LYME ART ASSOCIATION 90 Lyme Street Old Lyme, Connecticut JUNE 8 thru JULY 7, 1996 Original work in oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, hand-pulled prints, drawing and small sculpture. Artists living within a reasonable distance of the LYME ART ASSOCIATION GALLERY are invited to submit original paintings and sculptures of professional quality. Student work executed in class or under instructional guidance will not be accepted. SUNDAY, JUNE 2 Paintings and sculptures must be delivered by hand, unpacked, by the artist or 3 to 4:30 p.m. agent, at the gallery Sun., June 2,1 - 4:30 p.m. & Mon., June 3, Noon - 4:30 p.m. Jury Entrants may submit a maximum of two (2) works. For non-members, MONDAY, JUNE 3 there will be a non-refundable registration and handling fee of $10. for the 1st Noon to 4:30 p.m. entry and $5. for the 2nd. Associate members may submit 2 pieces for $5. A. stamped self-addressed envelope must accompany entries. Paintings must not exceed 40 inches in the greatest dimension. Frames should not exceed 4 inches in width and must be furnished with screw eyes. Sculptures must not exceed 100 pounds. Pieces excessive in either size or weight may be rejected. Final decision on this point rests solely with the Exhibition Committee. All Jury Entrants' work will be judged by the Jury of Selection. All work accepted must be for sale with the exception of portraits. A 30% donation from sales will benefit the maintenance of the gallery. SATURDAY, JUNE 8 Work not accepted must be removed on Saturday, June 8 between 1 and 3 p.m. 1 to 3 p.m. Jury entrants will be notified by mail prior to the pick-up date. As a non-profit gallery, the LYME ART ASSOCIATION cannot assume the role of sales agent. All sales will be the responsibility of the artist for the payment of taxes required by the state. Every care will be taken in handling work submitted for exhibition with the LYME ART ASSOCIATION. The Association will not be responsible for any loss or damage, no matter how same shall be caused. The entering of work in the exhibition assumes the acceptance of these conditions. ALL EXHIBITS MUST REMAIN AS PLACED BY THE EXHIBITION COMMITTEE UNTIL THE CLOSE OF THE EXHIBIT. SUNDAY, JULY 7 At the close of the exhibition, all work must be removed on Sunday, July 7, 3 to 4:30 p.m. between 3 and 4:30 p.m. All work left after August 13 will be subject to storage charges.
