During the first ten years predominantly involved in experimental and analytical investigations on brick masonry, reinforced brick masonry and reinforced concrete plate and shells. Later started working on mechanical properties of fibre reinforced concrete especially ferrocement. Response assessment of ferrocement slabs under dynamic environment and the simulation of mechanical behaviour in elastic and inelastic regimes using elasto-plasticity in conjunction with a layered approach employing finite element method with different yield criterion for the different layers were undertaken. Worked on the corrosion resistance and the durability of fibre reinforced composites and nano additive based composites. Presently working on mechanical behaviour of geopolymer concrete.  Research Schemes Successfully Completed 1.
