Therefore, it is quite meaningful for many researchers and scientists to exchange their knowledge with each other and to establish relationships for collaboration. A series of ISIE symposiums have provided seven opportunities since 1992 in various cities, Sendai, Beijing, Singapore, Kumamoto, Cambridge, Daejeon and Warsaw. The 8-th symposium will be held in Osaka in September 2013 and organized with a special focus on the new developments in experimental, theoretical and computational aspects of dynamic response of materials and structures. Specific topics of interest include but are not limited to: - Dynamic deformation and constitutive relations - Perforation and penetration - Dynamic failure and fracture - Structural crashworthiness - Dynamic biomechanics and sports dynamics - New testing techniques - Elastic/plastic wave propagation - Numerical simulations - Other topics involving impact loadings Domestic ISIE Organizing Committee Chair Prof. Kobayashi H.
