The objective of CIAC2013 was to provide a platform for researchers, engineers, academicians as well as industrial professionals from all over the world to present their research results and development activities in Intelligent Control, Intelligent Information Processing and Intelligent Technology andSystems.Thisconferenceprovidedopportunitiesforthedelegatestoexchange new ideas and application experiences face-to-face, to establish research or business relations and to find partners for future collaboration. We have received more than 800 papers. The topics include adaptive control, fuzzy control, neural network-based control, knowledge-based control, hybrid intelligentcontrol,learningcontrol,evolutionarymechanism-basedcontrol,multi- sensorintegration, failurediagnosis, andreconfigurablecontrol, etc.Engineersand researchers from academia, industry, and government can gain an inside view of newsolutionscombiningideas frommultipledisciplinesinthefieldofIntelligent Automation. All submitted papers have been subject to a strict peer-review pro- cess;285ofthemwereselectedforpresentationattheconferenceandincludedin theCIAC2013proceedings.Webelievetheproceedingscanprovidethereadersa broad overview of the latest advances in the fields of Intelligent Automation. CIAC2013 has been supported by many professors (see the name list of the committees); we would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere grati- tude and highest respect to them. At the same time, we also express our sincere thanks for the support of every delegate.
