Deponent, upon request of Henry H. Clifford, 639 South Spring Street, Los Angeles, California 9001U, has made a personal examination and study of the Clifford collec¬ tion of "Money of the American West," commencing in March 1966 and continuing to the present time. The coins, bars, ingots, tokens, and currency involved were, on the whole, physically examined in Los Angeles, California, although several items originated in or were forwarded to Rockville Centre, N.Y., and there studied. Most Notes are signed "by Joseph Smith, founder of the Mormon Religion, and Sydney Rigdon, his Chief of Staff. Smith prophesied that "Some day these Notes will "be as good as Gold."
