The conference was meant to empower and engage Native youth from all corners of the United States. Native youth were brought to the Nation’s Capital in an effort to help push them in a positive direction. Youth had the opportunity to meet and talk with high ranking officials from various departments of the federal government that dealt with Native American Tribes. Taking pride in our Native heritage and helping cultural preservation was a big part of SAMSHA’s Native Youth Conference.
